We deserve time for rest and family, a piece of the good life. Decent housing, stability, peace of mind, and safety. We deserve good health, work with dignity, and opportunities to build shared wealth. We need a Bronx-wide Plan to change our economy and win investments in a better Bronx future for our families. We are a Bronx-wide Coalition because we are more powerful together.
Our Bronx-wide Coalition, policy platforms, and economic development plan are the result of Bronx residents building power together for years—across neighborhoods, generations, race, gender, class, ethnicity, immigration status, and faith. We are tired of narratives that portray us and the Bronx as people and places only of poverty, desperation, and hardship. We are a multilingual, multicultural community with bustling commercial districts, creative energy, community institutions, and neighbors who support each other.
We fight forward with one vision for an equitable, sustainable, just Bronx for our communities and families.
The Bronx has a plan to build Bronx-wide power.
The Bronx-wide Plan is a 30-year economic development plan for the borough, rooted in building shared wealth and ownership over the assets in our communities and growing our capacity to govern and steward them together.
The work of a Bronx-wide Plan is about not just jobs and housing for our communities, but a Bronx economy that we control through solidarity and cooperation. By working together to develop a shared vision, we generate a shared understanding, and grassroots leadership with the skillset of thinking long-term and developing shared strategy. Planning “from below” is a part of organizing and building power together.

The Bronx-wide Plan Sustainable Economy Partnership
The Bronx-wide Plan Sustainable Economy Partnership is a state initiative that will support a sustainable economic development strategy for holistic community wealth and environmental justice. This project will ensure that federal and state resources reach deep into the communities in the Bronx that are most in need, but require capacity building resources to take advantage of these opportunities.
The partnership will create a shovel-ready portfolio for decarbonization retrofits and resilience infrastructure, training a local workforce and developing the capacity of Bronx small businesses, laying the groundwork to build a sustainable and equitable Bronx economy.
Identify
hundreds of sites for resilience and green building upgrades and retrofits.
Engage
thousands of Bronxites in recruitment of properties, businesses, and workers for green jobs as well as family and financial support services.
Support
dozens of Bronx businesses with skill-building and technical assistance services to connect to green retrofit opportunities.
Train
hundreds of Bronx workers for careers in resilience industries.

Over the course of 2020, thousands of Bronxites engaged in an expansive participatory process to develop the Bronx People’s Platform for Congress. Through crafting a collective vision for the Bronx, we united our organizing efforts across the entire borough. We followed that up with the Bronx People’s Platform for NYC in 2021 and the Bronx People’s State Agenda in 2022, hosting candidates forums in every Bronx city council, state senate, and state assembly district where elections were held. These platforms served as the foundation for the creation of our Bronx-wide Plan.
